FYS Academy For children in PreK through grade 2, the FYS Academy is comprised of Little Strikers(PK), GK and G2.

Programs meet every Saturday morning through the Fall and Spring season for 8 weeks.

• Lil Strikers, PK Group meets from 8:00am - 8:45am
• Grades 1&2, G2 Group meets from 9:00am - 10:15am
• Teams are split by girls and boys, depending on registration
• There is one practice each week
• Kindergarten, GK Group meets from 10:30am - 11:30am

The FYS Academy features developmental activities and scrimmages.  Activities emphasize fun and ball skills, while scrimmages guide children in the basics of game play and offer an age-appropriate competitive experience in a supportive, community spirited environment.  In scrimmages, teams are small so that all players get many opportunities to dribble the ball (“touches”).  We teach players to support their teammates and control the ball as a team, rather than just “kick It”.  When grouping children for scrimmages, we strive for balanced games that increase in competitiveness as players are ready for it, and we do our best to minimize the need for kids to wait on the sidelines as subs.  On Saturdays, our FYS Academy sessions are held at upper Magnolia Fields at 550 Western Ave in Gloucester. For more information about the FYS Academy, please contact the Academy Director.

REQUIRED: Each player will be provided with a team t-shirt, but must also have:

1. Soccer Cleats or Sneakers (Sneakers are acceptable for the PK group)
2. Shin Guards
3. Soccer Socks
4. Water bottle (with your players name on it)
5. Size 3 soccer ball (with your players name on it)

PARENT PARTICIPATION: Helping on the field is a great way to deepen your relationship with your child and their friends. No experience necessary! We provide support to all coaches as they find there feet in the coaching role.

**WAITLIST**: If this program is waitlisted, go ahead and join the waitlist and we will re-open to more players as soon as we have enough parents willing to help lead activities.
